Color coding
Color coding in programing:
I think that for a long thurm progaming sesion dark backgroud and and bright text are better on the eyes. But if you are doing partial coding and other stuff then it`s better to stick to the traditional white background and dark text ( because it`s hard to adjust especially when you are using the other applications witch use white background).

swf example (press space bar or buttons)..
A good compromise wold be to have a gray background witch is easier on the yeas.
